We have all compared ourselves to others.
This other person has more than I have, they’re further in life than I am, they have more than I do… they’ve accomplished so much and I haven’t.
And we think to ourselves, “They’re so lucky!”
But we don’t know what they’re going through, or what they’ve overcome to get there.
Everyone has to start somewhere, and everyone has their own problems to overcome.
We just don’t see it because we don’t know them.
We aren’t the only ones with problems. Everyone has problems.
Sometimes it feels like we are the only ones that go through what we are going through, whether it’s financial problems, relationship problems, work problems…. personal problems.
We all have them! All of us! No matter who we were born to, what money we were born into, or what genes we were born with.
We all have problems. We are not alone in having life problems.
We just don’t necessarily show them to the world. Everyone that looks like they have it together, has overcome problems and will still have other problems. It’s just part of life.
You may not know it, but others look at you the same way.
There’s something in YOU that others look up to, admire, and wish that they had.
So don’t focus on your problems.
Don’t let them get you down. Don’t let them discourage you. Don’t let them make you think that your own problems can’t be overcome.
Nobody knows what you’re going through besides who you tell. Therefore, everyone else you’re looking at as successful have gone through unknown things as well, and have overcome (at least some) of them to get to where they are now.
Apples to oranges. Comparing your successes and failures to others’ is comparing apples to oranges.
You can’t compare an apple to an orange. It will cause a lot of self-esteem issues.
The key is to not let your own problems keep you down. They can all be overcome. It takes creative thinking, time and work, but they can be.
In this day and age with technology and the wealth of knowledge on the Internet, everything can be overcome.
Don’t forget everything in your life that you have already overcome. Times that were hard, incidences that happened with friends, loved ones, or work. Remember those times and how you made it through. Be confident in yourself. Don’t forget how strong you can be!Be confident in yourself. Don't forget how strong you can be! Click To Tweet
Focus on what you have already overcome to be where you’re at right now.
Don’t let others’ successes make you feel bad about where you’re at. They should be inspirational, because you can do it too! You can get there, be there, doing as good or better!
Focus on everything you have already overcome in your own life. Let it empower and motivate and strengthen you for the future. Know that if others knew what you have overcome, they would feel the same way because many others struggle with similar problems.
Remember – never compare your insides to someone else’s outsides. Well all have problems we are dealing with. We just don’t see them. See others as inspirational because we all have troubles that we have conquered because that’s how life is and remember your own victories. Don’t let yourself forget your own victories!
Tell me, what trials have you overcome in your life that you feel proud of or has made you stronger?
